ROLE SUMMARY:
The retirement marketing internship offers you a solid introduction to this exciting and fast-paced industry. It will teach you the basics of 403(b) and 457 plan, the importance of managing the plan sponsor, agent, and policyholder relationships while helping you to develop skills by executing marketing campaigns while working on real projects. One of the primary goals of the Retirement Team is to generate interest in National Life Group flexible premium products to increase sales in public K-12. As a retirement marketing intern your role will be to help us create a marketing campaign focused on this or an alternative market that is engaging and drives clients to our product or agents. The primary tasks will include:
- researching target markets
- planning and executing marketing campaigns
- creating and/or editing marketing materials
- tracking campaign results
The results of the campaign will be used to shape future campaign strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This internship will provide you with hands on experience working with the Retirement Team, Plan Sponsor Clients and Agent Clients. It will teach the basics of 403(b) and 457 plans, the importance of managing the plan sponsor, agent, and policyholder relationships while helping you to develop skills by executing marketing campaigns while working on real projects. You will gain an understanding of the retirement landscape and the various roles in the industry that support American’s saving for retirement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Finance, or a related field.
- Graduation Year: Anticipated graduation between 2025-2027 (rising junior or senior).
- Functional Experience: Previous experience (through school projects, clubs, or internships) in marketing, communications, or business is a plus, but not required.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with basic marketing concepts and platforms (e.g., social media, email marketing, or digital marketing tools) is helpful.
- Ability to research, organize data, and create basic reports.
- Interest in Industry: An eagerness to learn about the retirement landscape, specifically 403(b) and 457 plans, and the insurance/financial services industry.
