Finance Manager, GABM & EIP Finance                                                                       

The GABM & EIP team provides the full life cycle of financial support to several functional areas of the company, driving both the financial planning & analysis and decision support aspects for Global Advertising & Brand Management (GABM) and Enterprise Innovation Partners (EIP). 

The Finance Manager will lead financial processes and perform complex financial analyses for the Global Advertising & Brand Management (GABM) organization of American Express. In addition to driving financial planning & analysis efforts, the Finance Manager will play a critical role in shaping GABM’s investments and overall strategy, enabling effective trade-offs, decisioning, and strategic growth for the organization. This role will have exposure to business partners in GABM and Business Unit Finance groups.

The Finance Manager should be a dynamic individual who can communicate effectively with business and finance partners, drive key financial processes, deliver superior analytics, and manage complex tasks in a global organization.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Drive monthly/quarterly/annual financial processes by working with GABM business partners, Corporate Planning teams and Controllership
  • Partner closely with GABM team on the management of Advertising and Promotion forecasts, investments, and related analysis
  • Analyze spend trends while liaising with business partners for in-depth analysis on financial results and assessments
  • Partner with Marketing and Finance stakeholders to devise and operationalize robust analytics to enhance the investment optimization processes for brand investments
  • Build and maintain complex financial models to support recommendations and provide decision support (e.g. AXP In-house Creative Agency, A&P Investment Optimization)
  • Develop presentations and provide insights for senior Finance leaders and GABM business partners
  • Build and maintain relationships with key business partners to influence decisions and deliver results 

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics and skills:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in financial planning 
  • Solid financial background with proven analytical skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills 
  • Strong oral and excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to concisely and clearly articulate financial concepts to multiple audiences
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, including providing proactive thought leadership, challenging status quo, and breaking down/solving problems
  • Bachelor's degree (Finance or Accounting)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of TM1 and Oracle a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus 

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
