Job Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator reports to the President and is responsible for the coordination of human resources transactions for both Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro campuses. 
Minimum Qualifications
• Technical Diploma or Associate Degree. • Five years of work experience in government, business or industry with a general knowledge of word processing, bookkeeping, accounting, and human resources. 
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree. • Experience with Banner student information system. • Supervisory experience.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Responsible for new hiring process: job posting, applicant screening, hiring committee selection, and interview scheduling.</li>
<li>Process payroll and benefits for employees on all TCAT Murfreesboro campuses.</li>
<li>Prepare employment contracts for all personnel.</li>
<li>Coordinate and monitor new hire orientation; prepare benefits paperwork.</li>
<li>Process background screening and reference check on final applicants.</li>
<li>Maintain service award/longevity award files, schedule awards.</li>
<li>Maintain all staff personnel files, ensuring compliance of security standards and applicable laws/regulations.</li>
<li>Establish, maintain, and ensure appropriate records for hiring procedures as required by EEO, ADA.</li>
<li>Perform all yearly training and reporting duties as Title VI and Title IX Coordinator.</li>
<li>Work with Finance Coordinator to prepare proposed, revised and estimated personnel budgets.</li>
<li>Maintain personnel budgetary account balances.</li>
<li>Communicate with all levels of institutional departments, interacting with faculty, staff, and TBR to obtain or provide employment and benefit information.</li>
<li>Prepare required human resources reports to the Tennessee Board of Regents and outside agencies.</li>
<li>Process leave requests/reconciliations, compensatory time, and timesheet approvals in TBR Portal.</li>
<li>Submit new hire information to Service Center for TBR Portal access and leave report/timesheet functionality.</li>
<li>Enter new hire information into Edison for benefits enrollment.</li>
<li>Monitor worker’s compensation and unemployment claims.</li>
<li>Maintain employee handbook.</li>
<li>Process FMLA and employee accommodations requests and maintain documentation.</li>
<li>Coordinate staff annual evaluation process.</li>
<li>Monitor compliance with state and federal guidelines; maintain proper documentation and employee files; prepare for state and federal audits.</li>
<li>Process/monitor Affirmative Action Plan.</li>
<li>Travel off campus, when needed, for employee benefit assistance.</li>
<li>Conduct employee exit processes.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned by President.</li>

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing. • Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions. • Ability to remain composed in fast-paced or emergency situations. • Knowledge of computer and online record systems; proficiency in MS Office Suite. • Ability to tactfully communicate with employees and the public at all levels while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. • Ability to design and maintain record keeping systems. • Ability to read and interpret policy manuals. • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. • Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting and budgeting. • Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly. • Ability to prepare written procedures.

The Smyrna Campus Coordinator reports to the President and is responsible for the coordination of campus activities at the Smyrna campus of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro. This position functions as liaison to internal and external audiences of the Smyrna campus.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required. • Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in an educational setting with significant decision-making responsibilities. • Demonstrated abilities in leadership, human relations, and communications skills. 
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution. • Classroom experience and/or appropriate administration experience in delivery of workforce education and training. • Evidence of successful administration experience with decision-making/supervisory responsibility in an educational environment. • Proficient computer skills including working knowledge of network systems and Banner system.
Job Duties
