The successful candidate will be expected to bring a new dimension to the Department while complementing its existing strengths in both the interdisciplinary and traditional fields. The candidate should possess expertise in cryo-EM for elucidating the structure and function of biological macromolecular assemblies at atomic level resolution. This includes experience in protein purification, sample application to grids, hands on experience with an electron microscope, and extensive experience in data processing for cryo-EM reconstruction as demonstrated with first author publications indicating expertise in the application of cryo-EM methodology. This is a 9-month appointment with potential for summer teaching. The successful applicant will be a licensed social worker (LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-S) with an academic doctorate (preferably PhD) in social work or a related field. Job responsibilities include teaching, scholarly activity (e.g., grant writing, manuscript submissions, and conference presentations), and service to the program, college, university, community, and profession.
