Strategic Partnerships Manager

Position Overview:

One Percent for America (OPA) is seeking a Strategic Partnerships Manager to join its talented team. OPA’s mission is to reduce barriers to US citizenship, advance immigrant inclusion, and advocate for immigrant equity and financial prosperity. One way that OPA does this is by providing unsecured small-dollar loans at 1% interest to cover the cost of USCIS immigration application fees. OPA’s digital lending program has already deployed $1.5M+ in loan capital to 1800+ borrowers, and we are just getting started.

The Strategic Partnerships Manager plays a key role in developing, expanding, and managing relationships with a diverse national network of mission-aligned partners and allies, including corporations, government entities, funders, and community-based organizations (CBOs) supporting accessible paths to U.S. citizenship, workforce development, and New American integration. This role provides critical support for place-based strategic relationship-building and programming, requiring domestic travel to conferences, events, and meetings as often as once a month. This position will report to the Director of Strategic Initiatives.

This position requires a passionate and purposeful individual with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and prior experience managing multiple projects, programs, and events from conception to launch. The Strategic Partnerships Manager will represent OPA at events, conferences, and with community partners, requiring strong presentation and persuasive communication skills. Candidates with lived experience within immigrant communities are encouraged to apply.

Work Arrangements: The OPA team is hybrid and gathers in person quarterly in Boston. Geographic flexibility can be accommodated.

Background:

One Percent for America (OPA), founded by BlueHub Capital, is a national 501c3 nonprofit organization reducing barriers to U.S. citizenship, advancing immigrant inclusion, and advocating for immigrant equity and financial prosperity-- successfully opening new pathways to citizenship that address rising citizenship application costs.

  • United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) application fees have been identified as a critical barrier to immigrants. While USCIS has a fee waiver program for eligible low-income immigrants, only 1% are income eligible.
  • OPA is an immigration fee assistance program for the remaining 99%--over 9 million eligible immigrants.
  • OPA’s innovative program delivers immigration funding support at the speed and scale necessary to drive systemic change and impact.

We work with the flexibility and speed of a start-up, while also having strategic support and stability through our founding sponsor, BlueHub Capital, is a mission-driven, nonprofit community development financing organization focused on building healthy communities where low-income people live and work. We use innovative financial tools and deploy capital to support projects that make communities more vibrant places to live. BlueHub has four distinct programs: BlueHub Loan Fund (community development financing), BlueHub SUN (foreclosure relief), BlueHub Energy (clean energy access) and One Percent for America (citizenship financing). Since our founding in 1985, BlueHub has invested over $2.6 billion (and leveraged over $13.6 billion) to reduce economic inequality.

Our offices are located in the Nubian Square neighborhood of Boston, MA. To learn more about BlueHub Capital, please visit, www.bluehubcapital.org.
