The U.S. Consumer Services and Enterprise Digital & Data Technology Team brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), AI/ML, marketing technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and automation, grounded in our data technology model that prioritizes data governance. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.
Global Advertising and Brand Management Tech team supports the digital products bringing membership entertainment and experiences to life, by providing a platform for activating events, checking in cardmembers and guests, enabling events offers and benefits redemptions and continuous engagement through our AmEx experiences hub and apps.
GABM is looking for a Quality Engineer to help with the continuous integration and delivery of our world class customer servicing tools. You will be working with your own scrum team and across those who work on our product to deliver high-quality features to your servicing colleagues. You will be primarily responsible for building out our automation suite to support the testing and regression of our front-end experiences and APIs, ensuring that our product owners needs are met, and quality code is delivered across our applications. While we expect most day-to-day tasks to be automation focused, we are looking for an individual who is passionate about all aspects of Quality Engineering, and this role with cover the whole spectrum of functional and non-functional testing.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of quality code that is fully tested and scalable
- Lead QA engineers across multiple GABM scrum teams and maintain consistent automation framework
- Uplift the existing test automation suite; add new features.
- Help in building end to end traceability for our Digital Customer Experiences
- Work with Product Owners to define requirements for new features, contribute to product roadmaps and plan increments of work
- Identify opportunities to adopt innovative testing technologies and techniques
- Execute test cases/scripts, including Systems Integration, Regression, and Performance Testing
- Help us develop and maintain other non-functional areas of test, such as Accessibility and Security
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years’ experience in software engineering, with a focus on quality
- Experience in UI automation, such as Selenium WebDriver.
- We are moving to a Microsoft Playright based automation framework. Experience of this is a bonus, but most important is your willingness to learn and you will be given time and support to upskill
- Understanding of BDD and ‘Shift Left’ concepts
- Demonstrated experience with CI/CD and continuous testing (CT) capabilities
- Experience with API Test automation (preferably RESTful APIs and microservice design pattern). Knowledge of Karate API Framework is a bonus as we are moving to this platform.
- Performance testing experience with tools such as JMeter or K6
- Other nonfunctional testing, such as accessibility (Lighthouse) and security testing is also desired, but not essential
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
