Overview

LMI is seeking an experienced Practice Area Lead for our Integrated Logistics practice in our Logistics Service Line to develop and align unique capabilities to support our vision to power a future-ready, high performing government.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Lead a large team of transportation, distribution, and logistics professionals
  • Mature the Practice Area by identifying and mentoring subject matter experts and emerging talent to achieve professional growth while maintaining a healthy culture
  • Identify methods and resources to improve employee professional skills to include certifications, degrees, professional organizations, and work experience
  • Provide input to Practice Area staff on Performance 365 goals and calibrations
  • Manage the Practice Area’s hiring process to respond to talent demand; conduct hiring interviews and coordinate with SSL VP on staffing decisions
  • Assist Resource Managers and SSL VP with staff redeployments and internal mobility
  • Foster collaboration and cooperation with other Practice Areas for unity of effort; communicate to a wide range of audiences, situations, and requirements
  • Innovate, mature, and document LMI’s Transportation and Distribution solutions, offerings, methodologies, and capabilities supporting client requirements
  • Develop business development plans and provide solutioning, capture, and proposal support to growth
  • Develop sales enablement materials to support Practice Area growth
  • Other responsibilities as required
  • Engage with clients and leadership on status of projects, and interface with clients, stakeholders, and leadership to understand requirements and communicate results.
  • Develop new business for the transportation functional area through client engagement, writing proposals, and capture efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree with emphasis in supply chain management, logistics management, or strategy and resource planning
  • At least 12 years of demonstrated expertise in supply chain management, warehouse operations, diverse transportation modes, military logistics operations
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • High-energy, enthusiasm, curiosity, tact, and ability to effectively interact with clients at all levels in Government and industry
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative, respectful work environment
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to manage stress, adapt to fast-paced work efforts, and shifting priorities
  • Must be able to work remotely and be available for occasional travel
  • Applicants must hold a current U.S. Government SECRET clearance

DESIRED:

  • US Military logistics experience
  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional
  • Theory of Constraints or other continuos improvement certification
  • Wargaming experience
