Physical Requirements

This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from using job-related equipment; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.



Shift

Primarily Monday through Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm.



Job Summary

This Associate Director position will work collaboratively with Acute Care Pharmacy services in addition to designated service lines (Cardiology, Transplant, Ambulatory, Transitions) including clinical pharmacists, technicians, and providers to effectively deliver pharmaceutical care for the designated areas and throughout UK HealthCare. They will provide direct oversight to pharmacy managers and program coordinators within the group to enhance patient care and collaborate with service-line leadership to plan for any growth resulting in additional pharmacy services or personnel resources for all patient populations. This position will also play a role in oversight and coordination of pertinent service-line committees. The position will also play a key role in staffing models, continuing education for staff, and continuous quality assurance. Like all positions in the acute care services group, there will be a component of supporting the educational mission of the institution as well as supporting direct patient care when necessary.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Strong clinical and leadership skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; team mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.

Preferred Education/Experience

Pharm D with 5 years of pharmacy experience or Pharm D with PGY2 in Health System Pharmacy Administration preferred. Master’s degree in business and/or healthcare administration also preferred.
