Overview

LMI currently has three opportunities for Expert Systems Engineers to support an Intelligence Community customer in the northern Virginia area. 

The ideal candidate will serve in a full-time client facing role as an Expert Systems Engineer for an Intelligence Community (IC) client specializing in application development and maintenance with application instances in the cloud environment.  The candidates will demonstrate polished skills in programming and execution while managing and configuring the cloud environment for optimal usage. Lastly, candidates will provide engineering support in tracking hardware devices and software licenses for stand-alone tablets and other periferal devices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks similar to the following, or maybe required to perform additional tasks as assigned by the client.
  • Demonstrated experience working in Linux environment including working with the Linux terminal
  • Demonstrated experience creating and updating images for tablets for anti-virus and operating system updates and re-baselining tablets before re-use.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining hardware inventory levels to include assisting with the research and procurement of the next generation of tablets, printers, and any other peripheral items required to support tablets for training classes.
  • Demonstrated experience providing support in tracking hardware devices and software licenses for stand-alone tablets.

Qualifications

Have the following required skills, certifications and demonstrated experience:

  • Demonstrated experience of client systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with maintaining web servers
  • Demonstrated experience with IIS and Nginx
  • Demonstrated experience with General server and Storage (S3) volume management and backups within AWS
  • Demonstrated experience managing clusters, managing database users and permissions, and maintaining replication in MongoDB database management
  • Demonstrated experience with, or a working knowledge of, authentication and authorization systems and standards
  • Demonstrated experience with, or a working knowledge of, web security standards
  • Demonstrated experience with, or a working knowledge of, network systems and protocols
  • Demonstrated experience with, or a working knowledge of, the Sponsor’s security requirements for stand-alone devices
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph required
  • At least a Bachelors degree
  • Demonstrated experience with Linux

Other skills and demonstrated experiences that are highly desired but not mandatory to perform the work, include:

  • Demonstrated experience with Unix scripting, Perl, Powershell, Python, Ruby, and similar technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with unicode and multilingual, multibyte languages and computing or similar technology.
  • Demonstrated experience working with creation, maintenance, and implementation of needed workflows.
  • Degree in Systems Engineering or a similar field.
