Job Description

  • Engineer II – Treasury Applications
  • This role will be developing solutions and extending COTS products for our Finance Treasury Department in American Express. The right candidate will be comfortable with developing, testing, deploying, and supporting secure software products, as well as extending or migrating existent software products. A growth mind-set, ability to learn fast, prioritize, and make decisions within the scope of responsibilities are key to this role.
  • Requirements Gathering, Analysis & Design.
  • Writing and debugging code.
  • Experience with PaaS, DaaS, and XaaS.
  • Collaborating with team members to design and implement software.
  • Testing and documenting software.
  • Learning and applying coding best practices.
  • Participating and Driving code reviews.
  • Assisting in the support including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Ensuring software solutions have no security vulnerabilities.
  • Ensuring software solutions are resilient.
  • Contributing to overall secure software development lifecycle.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Operating Systems:Windows, Linux & Unix.
  • Languages:Java, Unix Shell Script, JavaScript (ReactJS, NodeJS), Swagger, HTML, CSS
  • Data Stores:SQL Server, My SQL, Oracle, Postgres
  • Development Tools:Putty, WinScp, Postman, Tableau, Servicenow, Informatica, Power BI
  • Software Engineering Methods:Agile Methodology.
  • Other:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience and certifications.
  • 4+ years of experience in software development.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, Unix Shell Script, JavaScript (ReactJS, NodeJS), Swagger, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with data stores and their querying languages: SQL Server, My SQL, Oracle, Postgres
  • Experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with data modeling and data engineering.
  • Proficiency with GitHub, Jenkins (or equivalent), CI/CD, Putty, WinScp, Postman, Tableau/PowerBI/or equivalent, ServiceNow, Informatica
  • Experience with one or more Cloud technologies including IaaS, PaaS, DaaS, and XaaS.
  • Experience with the Testing Lifecycle, Unit Testing, SIT, Regression Testing, UAT.
  • Experience with Secure Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI applied to coding and testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • GCP, Hadoop, PySpark, Hive & Cornerstone, Hadoop.
  • Knowledge of ITIL.
  • Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Cash Mgmt basic knowledge.
  • Familiar with network concepts.

Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
