We are currently searching for a Director of Clinical Training to join our Anaheim campus location.
This position is a hybrid position that offers a balance between on-campus presence and remote work. The Director of Clinical Training will spend three days on campus, one day remote, and one day dedicated to professional growth and development. This flexible structure embodies The Chicago School's commitment to fostering innovation and work-life balance.
The Director of Clinical Training oversees the entire practicum experience for the students in the COAMFTE accredited MA Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy program. This position collaborates with the Campus Director of the Office of Placement and Training and acts as a liaison between the academic program administration and faculty, the training sites, and the students across various campuses. This position reports to the Department Chair and the Campus Director of the Office of Placement and Training. The Marriage and Family Therapy Department consists of two programs: a M.A. in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy (offered at all three Southern California campuses – Los Angeles, Anaheim, and San Diego), and a PsyD in Marriage and Family Therapy (offered at the Los Angeles and Anaheim campuses). Both programs are endorsed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and the M.A. in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy Program maintains COAMFTE Programmatic Accreditation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain a network of practicum sites, as well as relationships with site supervisors.
- Oversee the education of students who are new to the practicum search processes and practices.
- Consult with students who are encountering issues related to their practicum experience.
- Manage the flow of information regarding students’ progress, as well as problems, to academic department chairs, faculty, and/or practicum sites.
- Oversee the review of practicum evaluations and related paperwork.
- Manage the proper storage and/or dissemination of training data including the relevant portions of the Tevera database.
- Consult on the development of new applied professional practice initiatives and projects.
- Participate in the MFT and OPT department meetings.
- Participate in department-level strategic planning and budget process.
- Consult on the development and maintenance of coursework pertinent to professional practice.
- Interact and communicate successfully with a diverse population.
- Act in a way that embodies the mission, vision and values of The Chicago School.
- Adhere to all confidentiality requirements.
- Attend Faculty Council meetings.
- Attend outside MFT Consortum meetings
- Maintain appropriate records (e.g., PATTR) for programs from which students are being placed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and Campus Director of the Office of Placement and Training.
Qualifications:
- 2 -3 years of professional training experience preferred.
- Licensure as a Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California.
- AAMFT-Approved Supervisor eligible (AAMFT Approved Supervisor status preferred).
- Ability to travel between the Anaheim and San Diego campus locations.
- Ability to travel to practicum site locations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct oneself in respectful and ethical manner.
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple deadlines while meeting or exceeding expectations.
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.

Compensation & Benefits
This opportunity is budgeted at $$72,000 to $80,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
